Our Story
Acts of Service is how we show up
We are a husband-and-wife team, together for 40 years. We have always been the helpers in our families, and spent decades showing up for grandma and grandpa, our moms, and extended family, tackling repairs and maintenance whenever something needed fixing.
We both lost our dads at young ages, and the hands-on wisdom a father passes down was never handed to us. So we learned by doing. We read books, studied buildings, and then rolled up our sleeves and did the work ourselves, and we got really good at it!
We bought our first home in our early twenties, and several more since. Along the way, we learned what every owner of a 1920s home learns quickly: old houses have character, and they also have gaps, but so can newer homes! Rodents had found their way into ours, and no pest control company could solve it because they weren’t looking for entry points. They only wanted us to subscribe to lengthy, expensive contracts that perpetually poisoned not just the rodents, but the wildlife around us. We are not okay with that!
Over the years, our experience grew into formal expertise. Patty, trained as a home inspector, learned to read a building the way a coach reads the playbook, spotting the gaps and weak points that invite pests in. Andrew brings decades of hospitality management and restaurant maintenance experience, keeping busy properties clean, safe, and running smoothly.
A few years ago, we noticed our neighbors hiring pest control services that relied mainly on poison. What came next shocked us. Each season we found dead mice and rats in our yards, sometimes in the double digits, and none had been taken by natural predators. They had been poisoned.
As lifelong nature enthusiasts and careful observers of wildlife, we also began noticing sick birds in our area, including hawks, bald eagles, and great horned owls. These animals help keep our ecosystem in balance, and they feed on rodents and carrion. We believe many of them were most likely eating poisoned prey, which is how poison travels up the food chain. The statistics might shock you!
Hawkeye is the better way we wanted to offer, and now it reaches the whole home. Call us to inquire about your rodent issues and home maintenance to-do list.
Together we bring a trained eye, practical skill, and a teacher’s patience for explaining what we find so you understand exactly how to keep your home protected and maintained.
